Carver Companies Celebrates Groundbreaking for Aprojects Americas Expansion at the Port of Coeymans

COEYMANS, N.Y. — October 23, 2026 — Carver Companies and the Port of Coeymans celebrated the groundbreaking of a major expansion of Aprojects Americas’ U.S. operations at the Port of Coeymans, marking another milestone in the continued growth of the port and its role as a strategic hub for international cargo transportation.

The $7.9 million project includes the construction of a new 75,000-square-foot logistics and staging facility and the addition of a 160-ton mobile crane. The expansion will provide Aprojects Americas with additional capacity to stage, marshal and store oversized equipment and components before shipment to destinations throughout North America and around the world.

The groundbreaking ceremony brought together representatives from Aprojects Americas, Advance Albany County Alliance, Carver Companies and local government officials to recognize the investment and the partnerships supporting continued economic development at the Port of Coeymans.

Since establishing its presence at the Coeymans Industrial Park three years ago, Aprojects Americas, the North American branch of Belgium-based Aprojects, has expanded to occupy more than 100,000 square feet of warehouse space and designated the Port of Coeymans as its U.S. corporate headquarters. This latest investment represents the next phase of the company's growth and reinforces the port's strategic value for businesses requiring specialized heavy cargo handling and transportation capabilities.

The Port of Coeymans offers direct access to the Hudson River, enabling the movement of oversized cargo by water while connecting businesses to regional transportation networks. These capabilities make the port an attractive location for international companies transporting large-scale equipment and components, including products supporting the renewable energy sector.

“This expansion at the Port of Coeymans is a testament to the strategic value of this location and the partnership between Aprojects and Carver Companies,” said Daniel Foote, CEO of Aprojects Americas. “With this new facility and the support of Advance Albany County Alliance, we are well-positioned to serve our clients, grow our workforce and deepen our commitment to the Capital Region.”

The project is supported by more than $2 million in assistance and incentives from Advance Albany County Alliance and its affiliated economic development organizations, including a Payment in Lieu of Taxes agreement, a $1 million loan supporting the crane purchase and a Sustainable Technology and Green Energy grant of up to $750,000.

The expansion builds on decades of public- and private-sector investment at the Port of Coeymans and the Coeymans Industrial Park. Together, the facilities have attracted approximately $250 million in private investment and support around 800 direct jobs across more than 20 businesses. Their economic impact also extends throughout the surrounding community, with more than $500,000 spent with businesses in Ravena and Coeymans in 2025 alone.

“This expansion and the continued investment by Aprojects Americas demonstrate the important role the Port of Coeymans plays in attracting international businesses and supporting economic growth throughout our region,” said Carver Laraway, Founder and Chairman of Carver Companies. “Our location, waterfront infrastructure and partnerships with organizations like Advance Albany County Alliance allow us to support companies as they grow their operations and serve customers around the world. We are proud to see Aprojects continue to invest in the Port of Coeymans and the Capital Region.”

The new facility is expected to create 12 construction jobs during development, with the overall expansion project anticipated to generate 18 net new jobs and approximately $9.1 million in annual economic activity. The building will provide additional staging and storage capacity for energy-related components and other oversized products awaiting shipment.

As investment continues at the Port of Coeymans and the adjacent Coeymans Industrial Park, Carver Companies remains focused on supporting industrial growth, strengthening regional supply chains and providing the infrastructure and logistical capabilities that connect businesses in the Capital Region to markets around the world.
