Each year, we play an integral part in winter storm preparedness through the import of road salt via the Hudson River. Nearly 1 million tons of road salt comes across our dock annually and is stored in large salt barns where DOT trucks and plow crews from across New York state, Southern Vermont, and Massachusetts use the product to keep roads safe.
