The proposed project includes the construction of a 75,000-square-foot industrial logistics and cargo staging warehouse within the existing Coeymans Industrial Park.
The project was approved by the Town of Coeymans Planning & Zoning Board in April 2020.
Representing a $7.9 million private investment, the facility will provide dedicated indoor space to receive, store, inspect, and prepare oversized industrial equipment before it is shipped through the Port of Coeymans to projects across North America.
The facility is not designed for manufacturing, retail distribution, or consumer fulfillment. Instead, it supports the movement of large industrial cargo through the Port.
Simply put, the facility fills the gap between where equipment is manufactured and where it begins its journey through the Port of Coeymans.
Aprojects USA is an industrial logistics company with more than 35 years of international experience coordinating the movement of oversized industrial equipment and project cargo. The company supports manufacturers, contractors, and project owners across a variety of industries, helping move large components safely and efficiently from where they are built to where they are needed.
The Port of Coeymans plays an important role in connecting Capital Region manufacturers to customers throughout the world.
Many of the bridges, infrastructure components, industrial equipment, and clean energy systems built throughout the Capital Region require specialized handling, staging, and transportation capabilities that are not available at a typical industrial site. The Port's deepwater access, heavy lift equipment, and industrial infrastructure make it uniquely positioned to support these types of projects.
The proposed Aprojects facility complements these existing capabilities by providing space where industrial equipment can be received, stored, inspected, staged, and prepared before shipment.

The proposed Aprojects facility is expected to create new jobs, support local businesses, and generate long-term economic activity throughout Albany County.
Beyond the local jobs, Aprojects continued presence in Coeymans will facilitate long term job and manufacturing growth throughout the Capital Region and beyond.
According to the independent economic impact study prepared by Camoin Associates, the project is expected to create:
18 new permanent jobs
16 construction jobs during the development of the facility
Support 42 total jobs throughout Albany County through direct, indirect, and induced economic activity
Beyond creating new jobs, the project is expected to generate ongoing economic benefits throughout Albany County.
This represents the total economic activity generated by the project each year, including spending by the facility itself, purchases from local suppliers and contractors, and additional business activity created as those dollars circulate through the local economy.
Examples include:
Local suppliers and service providers
Construction and maintenance contractors
Equipment and material purchases
Professional services
Employee spending at local businesses
This represents wages earned each year by people whose jobs are supported by the project, including Aprojects employees as well as jobs created through suppliers, contractors, and other local businesses that benefit from the project's operations.
Those earnings are then spent throughout the community on everyday expenses like housing, groceries, restaurants, childcare, and other local goods and services.
Based on Aprojects' current operations:
The proposed building supports existing operations and is not expected to significantly change traffic patterns.
What is a PILOT?
A Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) is an economic development tool used by Industrial Development Agencies (IDAs) to encourage private investment, job creation, and business growth.
Rather than immediately paying full property taxes on a new investment, a company makes scheduled PILOT payments over a defined period while investing in a project and creating jobs.
What does this mean for taxpayers?
A PILOT does not increase property taxes for residents or shift the tax burden onto homeowners.
Without the proposed project, the property would remain undeveloped and the new building — and the tax revenue associated with it — would not exist.
According to the independent Camoin Associates economic impact study, the proposed project is expected to generate more than $254,000 in additional revenue for local taxing jurisdictions over the PILOT term compared to leaving the property undeveloped.
After the PILOT term ends, the property transitions to paying its full assessed property taxes.
We welcome questions from residents and members of the community.
